The Painful Truth
2014-2015 co-producer, videography, research journalist

This feature length documentary about chronic pain medicine in the US. I acted as co-producer, videographer, and journalist; researching, filming and conducting interviews with medical specialists and patients all over the country. The short cut of the piece was shown in front of the U.S. Congress during a special hearing on pain medicine.

Taft-Nicholson Center
2012-2013 producer, videography, editor

In the summer of 2012, while an adjunct professor at the University of Utah, I was contracted to visit their new satellite campus on the beautiful Centennial Valley, MO. Over 3 weeks I directed and instructed a crew of 15 students to capture the essence of such a unique educational center. The footage was then edited into a short and long form documentary as well as a series of web shorts for promoting the center.

Or Perish in the Attempt
2012-2016 videography, location manager, associate producer

This documentary is about the medical aspects of the Lewis and Clark expedition. Primary filming started in 2012 and included a week straight of rigorous shooting with historians, doctors and historical re-enactors.

Promotional

RoboUtes
2012

The RoboUtes is a team of interdisciplinary engineering students that come together to yearly to build a space-ready robotic rover and compete internationally at a NASA funded competition. The team approached me to create a video that they could use to help recruit new members and highlight their efforts within the community. They still use this video today and have doubled their team in the years following.

U of U Tech Venture and Development
2011

In 2011 I was contracted by the University of Utah Technology Venture Development office to create a series of short promotional videos to showcase some of the promising research and development coming out of the institution. I was tasked to meet with researchers and develop web friendly video pieces to be used in raising excitement and securing funding. This video is one example of the series.

U of U Humanities
2010

The University of Utah College of Humanities was doing a rebranding effort during 2010 and hired me with a small team of students to create some pieces to go along with the campaign. I filmed, edited and did the graphic work of most of the shorts, including this video which is still featured on the college's homepage.
